As of January 23, 2024, we confirm the abduction and detention of over 215 Palestinian healthcare workers by Israeli Occupation Forces since October 7, 2023. Of these, 65 are held in Israeli prisons, while more than 150 are detained at hospitals or detention camps within the Gaza Strip. The 65 abducted healthcare workers include 26 physicians (21 from Gaza and 5 from the West Bank), 17 paramedics, 13 nurses (12 from Gaza and 1 from the West Bank), 4 technicians, 2 health administration staff, 1 dentist, 1 optometrist, and an 18-year-old nursing student from the West Bank. This ongoing situation continues to severely impact Palestine’s healthcare system.
