For the 21st consecutive day, Israeli Occupation Forces continue their military operation in North Gaza, which, based on the evidence observed by us and the relevant organisations, aims to destroy the pillars of life in Northern Gaza and forcibly displace the residents of the area southward, in line with the ethnic cleansing crime and context of the in-making genocidefor more than a year throughout the occupied Strip.

During this operation, IOF targeted all healthcare facilities in Northern Gaza. The latest documented incident was the invasion of the UNRWA-run Al-Fakhoura Primary HealthCentre after it was targeted with artillery shells days ago.

Last night, IOF targeted the oxygen stores of Kamal Adwan Hospital, an hour after the WHO-led joint mission left the hospital following the delivery of a limited amount of fuel and medical supplies.

According to testimonies received by HWW, this morning, IOF stormed the hospital, detained tens of displaced civilians and patients’ families, and forced many to evacuate southward. Regarding healthcare workers, IOF is forcibly detaining and interrogating all the healthcare workers inside the hospital and preventing them from communicating with the outside. Only 20 healthcare workers were ordered to undress and go on foot to an Israeli-designated checkpoint at Salah Aldin Road, where 13 were taken to an unknown place and the remaining 7 were ordered to head south.

This invasion comes two weeks after the occupation forces issued illegal orders to evacuate the hospital and threatened the healthcare workers with the fate of Al-Shifa Hospital.

Based on the above, Healthcare Workers Watch (HWW) holds the occupation fully accountable for the safety and well-being of the detained healthcare workers and patients within Kamal Adwan Hospital. We urgently call upon the United Nations and all concernedhuman rights and legal organisations to take all necessary actions to intervene to secure theirimmediate release and to ensure the continuation of medical services in Northern Gaza as mandated by the International Humanitarian Law (IHL).

We reiterate our calls to healthcare workers in the entire world to support their peers in Palestine who are being killed, detained, and tortured for fulfilling their duty of lives saving. Above all, we clearly and loudly call for an immediate ceasefire, and an end to the occupationin Palestine.
